oh my blog

The first day of class when Mrs. Croker warned everyone that the class was a hybrid and not for everyone I was a little worried. Then she said we have to create a blog account for the class, and I thought to myself " Oh @$#% ". It turned out to be not so bad though. The assignments were all for the most part easy, and I kind of enjoyed some of them. I like that we could all read each others blogs, and make, and read comments. It was a good experience, and I have to say that if it wasn't for this class i would have never blogged. I enjoyed reading about other's experiences and views, and writing about my own. Some blogs touched your heart while others were kind of funny. I even got to hear a good song from a band I had never heard of. All in all it was a good class, and I'm glad I stuck around. Mrs. Croker did a good job teaching the class, and making sure help was there if we needed it.

I had a blast

For my birthday last year me and some friends went skydiving. It was so much fun. I was with my girlfriend's cousin, my friend Matt, and his girlfriend. My girlfriend and some other people came too, but they didn't want to jump with us. So they went to where we were going to land, and waited there. They had three instructors, and they were cycling them out so one guy would go then two guys would go. Miri, my girlfriends cousin went first with the one guy, then Matt and his girlfriend went with the two guys, and last me with the guy who took Miri. I was pretty nervous while I was waiting on the guy to get back from taking Miri. The guy came back, and we got the gear together and got all strapped up. He told me exactly how everything was gonna go down when we were ready to jump, then we went outside and waited for the plane to come.
The plane showed up after just a few minutes. I have to say that the plane was a really shitty. It kind of looked like a flying turd, because it was mostly brown. I was a little scared to get in it, and once I was in there I couldn't wait to jump out. The plane took off and the guys was showing me how high we were. We jumped from 10 thousand feet. Once we got high enough he told me to open the door, and I did. 1, 2, 3 and we out the door and free falling. We feel for about 30 to 40 seconds spinning back and forth the whole way. Then all of a sudden the shoot opens, and we were floating. He gave me the controls to the parachute and let me control it. He showed me how to make us spin around and stuff which was pretty fun too. He took the controls back and got us to the ground. I was so happy to make it to the ground. Looking back I have to say, that it was the best roller coaster I have ever been on.

important people

Well one of the most important people in my life would have to be my dad. He has always been there for me and my brother and sister. Even though his dad was not there for him when he was growing up. My parents got a divorce when i was around eight years old or so, and my dad was always there every weekend to pick me and my brother up and take us somewhere. He used to take us to Six Flags over Georgia all the time, and we loved it. He has always been a hard worker, and someone I could go to for advice whenever I was going through anything. I have always looked up to him, and wanted to be like him.
Another important person in my life is of course my mom. I mean she raised me, and taught me how to be a good person. She always had food on the table, and loved to keep a clean house. She  has always been there for me, and I know she will always be there. I know i can call her anytime and she will be there to help. She wasn't always a stay at home mom though. She has had quite a few different jobs, and always did what she had to do to take care of us.
Then their is my brother Joey. He is six years older than me, and was pretty much my idol when I was growing up. He taught me how to skateboard, and used to take me with him and his friends whenever they would go to the skate parks. Even though their was a pretty big age difference we are very close. He would always let me hang out with him and his friends, probably because he knew I wouldn't tell on him ever. He even saved my life when i got attacked by a dog. He is now a Tech Sergeant in the Air Force, and has two baby girls that are his world. I think he was probably the biggest influence on me.

Modern Warfare 3

I recently bought the new Call of duty: Modern warfare 3, and I love it. It has all the features of the older games, with some new stuff thrown in there as well. This game is very popular, and when I went to the store to get it the line was rapped all around the store, and then out the door. I heard on the radio that there had been over nine thousand copies reserved for the game before it even came out. Of course I was one of those nine thousand people who reserved it, but I didn’t go at midnight to pick it up which I could have done. I was lazy, and didn’t feel like doing that which probably was a good idea because the line was still huge the next day. You can imagine what the line was like at midnight.
I really like this game, and all the ones that came before it. If you have played the other ones which I know some of you have, it’s just an upgraded version of the other ones. If you have not played them it is a first person shooter, and puts you in pretty realistic scenarios of war. The first game was World War II, and now they have taken it to World War III or what it could be like. It also has the online part where you can play with people from all over the world. Online is cool because they have team death match. That’s when you get two teams of six people each, and you run around on a certain map or stage and try to kill the other team. It has a score system, and the team that reaches a certain score first wins.
It’s a really fun game, but it’s a little violent so if you have kids you may want to watch out for this one. I also like it because of the story mode which is pretty realistic and gets sort of intense at some points. This one starts out with Russians having New York City locked down, and you as an Army Ranger have to go disable a tower that jams radio signal, and guidance systems. That’s just the beginning, and there are a lot more missions with Navy Seals, and other special operations groups. It’s a really fun, and exciting game if you like that kind of stuff. I would recommend it to anyone who like to play video games.

(FFN)

Let’s see I would say this book has had a pretty good effect on how I look at hamburgers. Now when I think of hamburgers I stop, and think about everything that goes into making it. I learned a lot of things I didn’t know about in this book. I mean I knew that the feedlots were they slaughter the cows was a pretty nasty place, but I didn’t know exactly how nasty it was. I also knew that they hired a predominantly illegal workforce, but I didn’t know that they were treated so badly. I always thought that they were treated at least with some respect, but according to Fast Food Nation they are treated almost like animals. As far as the way I live my life? I don’t think it is going to make me stop eating fast food. I mean I grew up in this fast food nation, and it’s a part of everyday life for me. I know fast food is bad for me, but sometimes I just can’t help it. It’s just so much easier to go out and grab some fast food than it is to cook up something at home. I would have to say that now that I have read this book I think I’m going to try to cut back on eating fast food.

This semester is going ?

The lie I told was  that i have been to Australia.
This semester is going pretty good for me so far. I am taking four classes this semester so the workload is a little rough. I think I can handle it though. I am taking English 101 of course, Biology 101, Astronomy, and a Math class. So far I think I’m doing alright in all of them. I have a test coming up in Biology, and Astronomy this week, so I have been studying for that. I think I would have to say that math is the easiest, just because I can knock out the homework in about an hour. Most of the homework for all my other classes is online. This online homework is a little new to me so I had to get the hang of it, but now it actually makes it easier. Plus when you are taking an online test at home you can always use Google. I thought it was funny because the teachers joked around about that fact as well.
So far I am enjoying school though, and I think it’s a lot easier than I thought it would be. Taking four classes is a little tough, but I like it because it keeps me busy. I don’t have a job, and I’m drawing unemployment so it’s nice to have something to do with my free time. I am also using the G.I. bill to come to college so I get paid to go. I mean what more motivation to go to school do you need. Plus I know that everything will pay off in the end. I think those two put together are my main motivations for college.
